Early Action Metrics
Maximise your CRC League Table Position

...get a head start on the competition
During the past few years, we have seen a considerable increase in demand for greener products
and services in almost every sector. From household goods and cars to heavy manufacturing and property,
the demand for more environmental products is gathering at a considerable pace.
The CRC league table will help buyers to cut through the glossy brochures and slick advertising and expose
those companies that simply don’t make the grade. Your organisation’s position on the league table could
have considerable impact on all areas of business, from sales and marketing to finance and business operations.
The
Early Action Metric aims to reward the efforts that organisations have put into energy efficiency measures
before the start of the CRC scheme by installing Automated Metering and Carbon Trust Standard or equivalent.
CarbonTrust Standard
The Carbon Trust Standard was developed by the Carbon Trust to encourage good practice in carbon measurement,
management and reduction by businesses and public sector organisations. It is designed to provide a robust,
objective and consistent methodology for assessing corporate carbon performance.
Achieving certification against the Carbon Trust Standard helps you identify and target inefficiencies,
promote an energy efficient culture and minimise future costs. energyTEAM’s accredited engineers can help you
in achieving the Carbon Trust Standard but also offer services such as Gap Analysis.
Gap Analysis
energyTEAM understands that some organisations may not be ready for an assessment under
the Carbon Trust Standard. Therefore, we can provide a Gap Analysis service which will give you a
clear understanding as to whether you are able to proceed with an assessment, and if not, our accredited
engineers will identify what actions you need to be put in place to enable an assessment to be carried out.

Automatic Meter Reading (AMR)
Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) form the other half of the early action metric and in doing so it provides
the opportunity for organisations to receive half of the available bonus payment during the first year.
In order to qualify, the automatic meter reading equipment must cover both electricity and gas.
All qualifying AMR will need to be installed by the 31 March 2011. In addition to the CRC league table
benefits of AMR, organisations should gain from an increased awareness of energy consumption to help
implement better energy management.
A participant’s score in the AMR element of the Early Action Metric is based on the volume of electricity
and gas supplied during the first annual reporting year through meters that count as voluntarily installed
AMR and were installed before the 31st March 2011. The earlier you voluntarily install metering arrangements
that count as AMR, the better your organisation will score in the AMR element of the Early Action Metric.
