Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) - January 2010

Participants will be required to purchase carbon allowances equivalent to their emissions. There will be league tables published showing the relative performance of the participants.

  • Does this legislation affect your organisation?

Total the amount of half hourly metered electricity used in 2008 across all of your UK sites. From this figure deduct the amount of half hourly metered electricity consumption on any sites with a Climate Change Levy discount of 25% or greater and or the consumption on any sites that are part of the European Emissions Trading Scheme.

If the result is still greater than 6 Million kWh then you will be affected by this legislation.

  • CRC management services

energyTEAM engineers will help you understand the implications of CRC and guide you through what your organisation will have to do with regard to measuring, monitoring and reporting energy consumption, purchase and redemption of carbon allowances and implementation of measures to improve your performance in the league tables.
